Holidays and shiny new toys
December 5, 2012 - Pam Rodgers
The holidays are a great time of year. For me it means Christmas cheer, traditional goodies and shopping of course.
The gift giving process can be a really fun thing. As you get older, it becomes more about the gifts you give to others than what you have on your own Christmas list. At least that’s the way it is for me.
The person I have the most fun shopping for is my twin sister. Trish is so easy for me to buy for because I know her so well. It’s fun to shop online but also go into certain stores and find a gift she never thought to ask for but loves. (She reads my blog so I can’t get too specific or else it will ruin the surprise.)
This year, her gift list is more exciting than mine. As I have mentioned in my blog before, she just bought a house so naturally the main items on her list go toward accessorizing it properly. The biggest item was a flat screen television, and because of the great deals on Black Friday, Christmas came early for Trish.
My dad and I were not going to brave the Wal-Mart lines and not include Trish in the whole debacle. Because she was getting what she most wanted, she didn’t complain. The whole Wal-Mart Black Friday madness is another story, but suffice to say we got the TV we wanted.
Trish is now the proud, two-week owner of a 46” Smart TV. And thanks to my help and the rest of the family, she is all set-up and ready to go. It seems only fair that I visit more often to help be sure that television works properly. I don't want her having a dud for a TV. ;)
