Aubrey update: One month old

We just took Aubrey's one-month old photos the other day. I cannot believe the baby girl is already one month old.

But things are improving for me as a father. The things I was very slow at when she first arrived -- making bottles, changing diapers and buttoning up her clothes -- are things I am improving every day in.

I am sure she looks at me during the process and thinks that some hack is taking care of her and maybe at times it feels that way on my end, but I am getting better.

I have changed more diapers this week already that I probably changed in the three weeks prior. Part of that is me being afraid to jump right in and the other part -- a big part -- is mom not wanting to let go. That is common, I know. Mom is great at what she does so I just let her go.

However, her maternity ends this week, and I will be home with her during the day so I need to start executing the playbook on some of this stuff or my win-loss record won't be anything to sniff at.

All in all, the challenges are becoming easier and things are moving a little bit easier right now. I have a long way to go before I stack up to mom, but dad is starting to figure things out.

It's about time.
