Resolution Update: Still no pop, workouts have begun

The new year is upon us and I have done my best to hold down the resolutions that I made.

So far, no pop for 2013. That will be tested this weekend when I go my in-laws. They always have an abundance of options in their fridge but I am going to stick to water and maybe some gatorade if it is available.

The workouts were slow to start the new year because of our beautiful baby girl, but I began my official half-marathon training today. My workout plan says to start out slow and do a few three- and four-mile runs the first week. Today was a 3-mile run but I am out of shape and have a ways to go before I hit my 8:25 pace that I did in last summer's Dam to Dam.

The first goal is to run to lose weight and then when some of the weight comes off, the runs will get easier and easier. I have confidence that it will come, but it will just take some time.
