Shipley, Bobcats create new helmet decal
August 7, 2013 - Troy Hyde
New Marshalltown football coach Aaron Shipley is making it easy for fans in the stands to recognize who works hard over the hot summer months.
New this year to the program will be helmet stickers in the shape of dumbbells. If you put in the time, you will get one. If you don't, your helmet will not have the sticker and everyone in the stands will see it.
"There is no more hiding from it now," Shipley said. "We are hoping that those who have it are proud of it, and those that don't will be motivated by it."
The Marshalltown football helmet already has a "Flying M" as well and blue and white stripes down the middle and on the outside. The dumbbell decal will go just above the Flying M.
The Bobcats open the season with a Week 1 road game at Pella on Aug. 30. MHS went 7-4 last year with one of those wins coming against the Dutch.
