Finally saw the 'big rock'
October 15, 2013 - Andrew Potter
I have been to Grammer Grove Wildlife Area near Liscomb before, but this past weekend I was finally able to spot the “big rock” at the park. The glacial erratic rock believed to be 14,000 years old is quite impressive and bigger than most cars. It’s cool the way the rock can be seen in parts through the trees on a trail. Then the trail opens up and there is definite “wow” factor when seeing it up close. My family can attest to that — it even got a big “Whoa” from our 21-month-old. We also spotted a deer running in the woods before we made our way to the trail — so it was a successful Saturday. The rock is located off a trail near the bathroom area of the park, which is southwest of Liscomb.
