Changes of September
September 3, 2014 - Pam Rodgers
Well, now that the Labor Day holiday has come and gone, it marks the end of summer and the return to old routines.
What I look forward to the most this time of year is the return of football. As much as I love baseball, there is something about watching action on the grid iron that I really look forward to every week.
My transition to the football field started last week. I went to a high school game for the first time in nine years. It was fun. The Chariton Chargers won their opener against the Centerville Reds 26-0. It was nice to go back to a high school game. It brought back a lot of fond memories from my high school days on Friday nights in the fall.
My football excitement is cropping up at the college level as well. This weekend I have a ticket to see my beloved Hawkeyes play Ball State at home. I’m excited to go. I try to catch a game live every few years or so, and it worked out this year. I can’t wait!
Thursday marks the beginning of the NFL season. It should be a good game between the Packers and Seahawks. I have yet to see an NFL game live. It’s definitely on my bucket list. I am perfectly content to watch as many games as I can on Sunday Ticket, rooting for my fantasy team players. My favorite team is in limbo as my Cowboys have become more and more frustrating to watch.
So, here’s to the return of the Boys of Fall. It should be a great season!
P.S. Go Packers!
