Liked Meyer’s on-air energy

I read recently that KCCI-TV’s number two sports reporter/anchor John Meyer is heading back to his native Pittsburgh for a similar job in the Steel City. I will miss his crazy Friday night high school football pregame antics where he would dress up like a cheerleader or somehow sneak his way into the band. As a sports writer in Newton our paths often crossed at the Iowa Speedway or football games. He always said hi and was one of the friendliest television people around. His on-air energy could be perceived as over the top at times, but hey, you can’t fault a guy for having fun on his job.
