The return of the NFL

September 8, 2009 - Bennet Goldstein
It’s been quite a while since I’ve seen so many big story lines emerge before an actual National Football League game has been played. Michael Vick is on the Eagles and Brett Favre is on the Vikings (at last check) are the two stories at the forefront. But this weekend the games start for real — finally. Favre’s indecisiveness and coverage thereof has made it seem like the preseason has been going on for months. Some spotlight games from week one include the Tennessee vs. Pittsburgh game Thursday night and the Green Bay-Chicago matchup Sunday night. I’m expecting both of those primetime games to be close as are network executives.
