‘Thank you’ to the U.S. Veterans

November 10, 2009 - Pam Rodgers
With Veterans Day, I always want to take a moment and think about what the men and women who serve give to our country. I am so thankful for the selflessness of those in the military who have fought for the America i live in and enjoy today. A special thank you will always go to my grandfather, James McNeely “Mac” Rodgers. Although he is no longer here, I will never forget what he told me about his service in WWII. He flew 27 bombing mission in a B-29 airplane over foreign soil. When I was growing up, I don’t remember him talking much about it. Then again, he could barely hear anything you said to him. But when he did talk about, he could talk all day and still not be finished with all the stories. I am proud to have had a grandpa who served so honorably and feel blessed that so many still do today. Thank you! I love you Grandpa, and I miss you.
