| | The year of the woman?June 30, 2010 - Andrew PotterAs the calendar turns to July it marks a new fiscal year and plenty of changes across the Marshalltown Community School District. Sharon McKimpson is the new principal at Miller Middle School, Sarah Johnson takes over as principal at Woodbury Elementary School and Susan Pecinovsky is now associate superintendent for the district. Is it the year of the woman in the district? Not sure, but currently there are six female principals in the nine Marshalltown schools. The district is also busy trying to fill the dozens of openings that occurred due to early retirements. It’s been a busy summer for the human resources department.
