Hot softball games, literally

I played a double header with my softball team on July 14, the hottest day of summer. I have to say that it has to be the warmest softball game I have played in my entire career. You were justing standing on the field, and it felt like you had run a mile. If you hit the ball and had to run, you get two steps out of the batters box and hit a wall. You felt like you were sprinting as fast as you could but you were really only at jogging speed.
All that aside, my team played the best we have played all season. We lost the first game and won the second. We probably played the two best teams in our league. The first team is undefeated, and we had a chance to win until the final inning when they took the lead plus a big cushion. We played good defensively (maybe not me personally since I made some errors). We also hit really well. I went 2 for 3 in the first game with 2 RBIs in both games. I was very pleased. Maybe the heat was a good thing?
