Exceeding expectations

September 21, 2010 - Pam Rodgers

My favorite television show, Chuck, had its fourth season premier Monday. I was very excited for the new season, and episode one didn’t let me down. It has set up for an exciting season ahead. Chuck is back with the CIA so he can continue his search for his mom. Operation Bartowski is back in full force with Chuck, Sarah and Casey all kicking butt and Morgan helping out in the goofy ways that he can.
One of the biggest changes this year is the Buy More. It is now an CIA facility, which makes a lot more sense. I am looking forward to how they will use that throughout the season. I am not sure how the comic characters will fit back into the mix. Jeff, Lester and Big Mike formerly worked at the “legitimate” Buy More so I have no guesses how they are going to be brought back into the show.
The Chuck and Sarah relationship is fully intact, which I am excited about. The first three seasons exhausted every obstacle keeping them apart so now its time to see what they can do together. I am glad that Chuck didn’t keep his mom search a secret from Sarah for more than an episode. Who better to help find mom than your kick butt CIA girlfriend. On that note, I hope they don’t keep Chuck’s sister Ellie out of the loop for long. Chuck hates lying to her and since they brought her in on his spy life, they shouldn’t go back to lying to her.
Chuck is only guaranteed 13 episodes this season. I want it to do well enough to get a full 22 episode year. It is a great show and deserves to be on the air. I just hope that NBC gives them the back nine episodes so I can watch Chuck all season!!
