A little drop of Fall

October 4, 2010 - Pam Rodgers
I awake with tiny chill in my room. I take a deep breath of dry air and arise from my bed, only wanting to jump right back in to escape the chilly atmosphere I have just stepped into. I speak of course of the brisk air that is Autumn as it slowly approaches the dreaded winter time. It’s at that stage where the weather cannot not be figured out. It’s cool in the morning and evening but nice during the day. It is also that frustrating time when you don't want to turn on the furnace to combat the chill and just go get another blanket to take care of the problem. Lord knows we have enough blankets in our house. I have added two to my bed and sit covered over while in my living room. There are still days when the blanket is unnecessary but my lounging attire now always consists of pants as opposed to my shorts and t-shirt of summer. Soon long sleeves will be a permanent fixture. Ahh, autumn. The most beautiful time of year, but also the most confusing to my body temperature.
