Eating my words ... gladly

The results are in; Dancing with the Stars Season 11 is over and my decision about whether or not I watch Season 12 is determined. And the winner is ... Jennifer Grey!! I am so happy that she won, which means I am still a DWTS fan and will be tuning in for the spring season. With all of my previous rants about the show, I am glad that this can now be a happier and upbeat reflection on the results.

Jennifer did an outstanding job. She wasn't the top of the leader board every week but she gave it her all every time. I mean, she is 50 years old but you couldn't tell by the way she moved on the dance floor with Derek Hough, her professional partner. She battled injury after injury but it never stopped her. She was amazing!! Congrats to Derek on being the first ever 3-peat!

Now for my apology to Bristol Palin. I do think it is inspiring what she's has been through on this season. She has come a long way from the shy girl in week one. Bristol literally got in her truck and drove the five day trip from Alaska to be on the show. She was so far out of her element but she still had the courage to step out on the dance floor every Monday and dance. I know it's something I would never be able to do, being a rather shy person myself. I feel a little silly about how much I ranted about her being in the finals. All Bristol ever did was try her best, and no one should be brought down because of it, especially since most of the backlash isn't about her but her mom. Bristol the pistol's got guts, there's no denying that.

I'm enjoying a nice piece of humble pie, but at least I didn't take a shotgun to my television.

P.S. For those people who think Jennifer Grey had too much dance experience because of Dirty Dancing are wrong. She got in a car accident shortly after the movie came out and lived from then until now basically with a broken neck. She had that fixed with a metal plate so she could do the show.
