Marshalltown The House of Compassion “Stuff the Bus” school supply give-away held Aug.14 and 16 was a huge success thanks to the community. Basic school supplies with backpacks or bags were given to more than 875 Marshall County students in grades K-12. Thanks goes to community churches, businesses, organizations and individuals for the generous donations of supplies and money. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church graciously allowed use of their church hall for the “give-away.” Thanks also to the many volunteers who helped sort and pack the supplies on the bus and also at the church. This project would not be possible without all of the willing workers. Families who received the supplies were very grateful for the help. One woman said, “This has been a really hard year for us. I am so grateful that there are people who care.
