Cyclones trying to dodge back-to-back losing seasons

February 29, 2008
By TIMES-REPUBLICAN STAFF
BOULDER, Colo. — Iowa State hopes to complete the season sweep of Colorado to secure what would be the Cyclone men’s basketball team’s second win in its last eight games.

Iowa State hosted Colorado to a 57-41 setback Jan. 29 at Hilton Coliseum, but the Cyclones have lost six of seven in February.

The two teams represent the bottom two spots in the current Big 12 standings. Iowa State (14-14, 4-9) is trying to avoid back-to-back losing seasons for the first time since 1990 and 1991.
