Hubalek tabbed to a Big 12 team

IRVING, Texas — Iowa State senior and former Marshalltown Community College men’s basketball player Jiri Hubalek has been named as a member of the all-Big 12 third team as announced Monday by the league.

The Prague, Czech Republic native led Iowa State in scoring at 12.8 points per game, posting three double-doubles. He ranked sixth in the Big 12 with 7.5 rebounds per game.

Iowa State sophomore Wesley Johnson was an honorable mention selection and senior Rahshon Clark was named to the all-defensive team.

Kansas State freshman Michael Beasley was named the conference’s Player of the Year, joined on the all-Big 12 first team by Darrell Arthur and Brandon Rush from Kansas, D.J. Augustin from Texas, Oklahoma’s Blake Griffin and Baylor’s Curtis Jerrells.

Both Beasley and Augustin were unanimous selections.
