RUNNELLS — Southeast Polk scored late in the second half to force overtime and scored at the 8-minute mark of the extra session for a 3-2 victory over Marshalltown in girls’ soccer Monday.
The Bobcats (1-2) led twice but were unable to hold off the Rams at the end.
Marshalltown took the lead 10 minutes into the contest on a goal by Lissa Duff.
Southeast Polk tied the game at the beginning of the second half before Duff’s second goal of the game put the Bobcats up 2-1.
The Rams scored the final two goals of the night for the victory.
Marshalltown keeper Kelly Fitzgerald finished with 13 saves.
The Bobcats open CIML Iowa Conference play Thursday as Mason City comes to Leonard Cole Field.
