On July 12, an employee with the City of Marshalltown, 24 N. Center St., reported spray paint graffiti damage to the cement pillars under the Third Street Viaduct which appear to be gang related. Estimated value of damage was $200.
On July 12, Shellina Mae Putney, Tama, reported the theft of a Motorola Razr cell phone while at 301 N. 9th St. Estimated value of loss was $200.
On July 11, an employee with Family Time Furniture, 2501 S. Center St., reported the theft of a Crosley 37" LCD TV and a Dell computer. Estimated value of loss was $1579.

On July 11, a car driven by Mary Christine Luethje, 2834 E. Merle Hibbs Boulevard, was backing out of a stall at JB Bar, 915 Turner St., when it collided with a legally parked vehicle on Turner Street. No injuries were reported. Luethje was cited for striking an unattended vehicle and driving while barred. Damage to the Luethje car was estimated at $100 while the legally parked vehicle received an estimated $1500 in damage.
On July 10, a car driven by Donna Mae Barker, 504 E. Main St., was backing out of a parking spot at Sunset Trailer Court Office when due to the position of a newly parked vehicle driven by Jorge Luis Rios, 502 N. 1st Ave., a collision occurred. No injuries were reported. Rios was cited for failure to have a valid driver's license, failure to carry a registration card, violation of financial liability-accident and allow unauthorized person to drive. Damage to the Barker car was estimated at $3000 while the Rios vehicle received an estimated $100 in damage.
On July 10, a car driven by Jacqueline Le Morgan, 514B E. Olive St. Apt. #404, was northbound on First Avenue when due to sun glare went through a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Conrad Gustave Lundberg, 219 W. Ferner St., which was westbound on Anson Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Morgan car was estimated at $2000 while the Lundberg vehicle received an estimated $2800 in damage.
On July 9, a car driven by Cady Elaine Weber, Grundy Center, was southbound on South Sixth Street when due to a distraction it collided with a pickup driven by Gary Eugene Shirk, 311 Terry Terrace, which was stopped awaiting to turn onto Terry Terrace. Weber was possible injured, but not transported. Weber was cited for failure to stop in a safe, assured distance. Damage to the Weber car was estimated at $3000 while the Shirk pickup received an estimated $1500 in damage.
