On Aug. 13, an employee with the Union Pacific Railroad, Omaha, Neb., reported the theft of a tool box containing wrenches, screwdrivers, impact sockets and a 3/8 DeWalt drill among other things from 115 W. Iowa Ave. Estimated value of loss was $900.
On Aug. 13, Angela Mary Hanus, Gilman, reported the theft of a rear view mirror and two silver necklaces from a 1996 Honda Accord while parked at 301 S. 1st Ave. Estimated value of loss was $110.
On Aug. 12, an employee with Haley's Grocery, 501 S. 3rd Ave., reported theft by check in the amount of $322.28.

Accidents
On Aug. 13, a car driven by Wilbur Clyde Darnell, 1211 W. State St. Apt. #219, was southbound on South 18th Avenue when in an attempt to change lanes it collided with a pickup driven by Larry Lee Miles, Columbia, Mo., which was also southbound. No injuries were reported. Darnell was cited for improper use of lanes. Damage to the Darnell car was estimated at $1000 while the Miles pickup received an estimated $1500 in damage.

On Aug. 12, James Arthur Gentry Jr., 104 N. 13th St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated, reckless driving, 3 counts of aggravated assault and criminal mischief, 2nd degree.

On Aug. 10, a pickup driven by John Joseph Haney, 1401 S. Center St., was travelling south on Knapp Avenue when it went through a stop sign and collided with the left rear quarter panel of a car driven by Catherine Ann Noble, State Center, which was eastbound on 235th Street sending it into the north ditch. Noble was transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Haney was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Haney pickup was estimated at $1500 while the Noble car received an estimated $4000 in damage.
On Aug.10, a pickup driven by Jeremy Mickael Aldrich, 1706 Fremont St., was eastbound on Summit Road with a passenger, Matthew Jay White, 202 N. 11th St., in the truck bed when in an attempt to negotiate a curve in the roadway the passenger was ejected from the truck bed and thrown into the south ditch and then the pickup knowingly left the scene. White was transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Aldrich was cited for leaving the scene of a personal injury accident.
