Muscle cars, new models, trucks and motorcycles lined Main Street Friday night for the Classic Car Show during this year's Oktemberfest celebration.

As many as 116 contest entries were on display while car enthusiasts and spectators viewed paint jobs and motors of several yesteryear classics.

Trophies were given to the winnners of several categories including Joe Lutes, Best Motorcycle; Gary and Barb Augustine, Best GM Car; James Stansberry, Best Import; Rob Beard, Best Convertible; Dick Jamell, Best Paint Job; Roy Swanson Best Mopar; Jerry Tramell, Best Ford; and Paul Eigenberger, Best Truck.

Richard Westscott's 1977 Ford won for Best Off Road Truck. This was a new category added to this year's event.

Barbara McGrew also won an honorary trophy for her 1950 Dodge Coronet.

D.J. Fisher's Ford Mach 1 Mustang won the People's Choice Award, while Carl and Sharon Meyer of Albion won the Mayor's Choice for their 1957 Chevy Delray.

Mayor Gene Beach said, "I kept going back and looking at that car. It is just beautiful."

All entries were judged by the participants themselves according to coordinator Eric Boone. Boone said the contest is one of the few car shows in the state to vote for one another.

"This was a great car show this year. It was a great turnout," Boone said.
