Local development may be in doubt

BY THE TIMES-REPUBLICAN
POSTED: October 3, 2008

A 36-unit townhome project and improvements, and perhaps the future of, the Wandering Creek Golf Course in Marshalltown may be in doubt with the death of Des Moines businessman Ed Boesen.

Those with interest in the project, along with one in Pella as well, are asking a judge to sever the interest of Boesen's estate in the project.

Currently the townhome project is still underway with no units completed. Four have been started. All work on the project is now suspended as contractors are unsure when they will be paid for work already completed.

The golf course, also owned by Boesen's interests, was purchased in 2007 after being bought from local owners.

Boesen died in the Quad Cities area after taking an overdose in painkillers.

Since his death, Boesen's business interests have come under a tremendous amount of criticism as being in more financial difficulty than they were made to appear at the time.

No other details were available as of press time.

This is just another display of half *** reporting by a terrible news organization. What a joke, where did you get your facts? Obviously this paper will never let the facts get in the way of a good story. When did they start letting High School kids write for the paper?

So, the T-R states that the project is "still underway" and also says "all work on the project is now suspended." So, which is it? Underway? Or suspended? Typical T-R reporting.
