The geothermal heating and cooling project at Woodbury Elementary School has reached completion.
A vote to approve the project as substantially complete will be held at the Marshalltown Community School District Board of Education meeting Monday.
The regular meeting is at 5 p.m. at district offices and is open to the public.
Also on the agenda is a vote on the proposed cell phone tower to replace a light pole at the Marshalltown High School football field. The vote was tabled at the last board meeting as members wanted to do more research on the issue.
The board will also consider the purchase of a new special education vehicle. The low bid was received from Clemons Chevrolet for $20,563.43 for a 7-passenger Chevrolet Uplander.

Wow, who'd a thunk!!!! The school board actually did something that makes sense. The geothermal project may cost us now but the future benefits will be realized. Unlike a killer cell tower or a construction project that was done so poorly that it will have to be redone, for safety. The geothermal project was from a previous board, so the thanks goes to them.
