Would anyone care for some Dim Sum Doo Whopp Doosey Wai Yu Mun Ching?
Saying it may be a task, but Susan Lang assures throwing a dinner party of the same name is much easier.
Born and raised in Marshalltown, Lang now resides in Wisconsin and has put her passion for entertaining to work with an online business called Snap Out Of It, selling themed dinner party kits for at-home fun.
She and daughter Eleanor Pigman wanted to partner a business venture, so they made a list of possibilities. From 30 ideas, it was narrowed down to what they enjoyed doing most - giving dinner parties.
Each themed kit contains an easy "Make it in a Snap" cheat card explaining how to put the party together from start to finish, music and beverage suggestions, tabletop decorations, and step-by-step recipes needed to have a fun and inexpensive party for six guests.
Lang and Pigman preferred giving upbeat names to the kits such as Ay Caramba, Dim Sum Doo Wopp Doosey, South Carolina Frogmore Stew, Hippy Dippy Nights and Kick Ass, Good Ol' Cowboy Barbecue.
"We both have a really good sense of humor, so we wanted it to be fun and clever - not the run-of-the-mill type of things," Lang said.
She added they are currently working on a recession-proof kit which focuses on throwing an entertaining party on a budget.
