Brian and Sharon Anderson of Prior Lake, Minn., are the parents of a daughter, Olivia Claire Anderson, born Dec. 7, 2008, weighing 6 pounds 11 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. She joins siblings Mike, 4 and Josiah, 3. Her grandfather is Richard Elmore of Beaman.

Arrests

On Dec. 10, Dusty Ivey, 22, Ackley, was arrested by Hardin County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with Failure To Appear. He posted bond and was released.

On Dec. 9, Lindsay Scarborough, 28, Grundy Center, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with Domestic Abuse Assault. She was also arrested on a Polk County warrant charging her with Failure To Appear. She posted bond and was released to Polk County authorities.

On Dec. 8, Isedro Rodriguez Sr., 44, Waterloo, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with 2 counts of Theft, 5th degree. He pled guilty and was released.

On Dec. 3, Kelly Scott, 29, Waterloo, was arrested on Hwy. 14 north of Hwy. 20 and charged with Public Intoxication. Scott pled guilty and was released.

On Nov. 24, Nathan Forey, 20, Waterloo, was arrested in Grundy Center and charged with Animal Neglect. He was released on promise to appear.

Accidents

On Dec. 6, a car driven by Robert Ash, Wellsburg, was southbound on Washington when it crossed the center line and collided with a vehicle driven by James Geerdes, Wellsburg, which was northbound. No injuries were reported. Ash was cited for driving with an obstructed view and operating while intoxicated. Damage to the Ash car was estimated at $1500 while the Geerdes vehicle received an estimated $4000 in damage.

On Dec. 6, a vehicle driven by Ricard Fredrickson, Iowa Falls, was eastbound at the intersection of 120th Street and B Avenue when due to icy road conditions it went out of control, entered the south ditch and rolled. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Fredrickson vehicle was estimated at $1000.

On Dec. 6, a vehicle driven by Renessa Zurbriggen, Parkersburg, was eastbound on 150th Street when due to icy road conditions it went out of control and entered the south ditch and rolled. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Zurbriggen vehicle was estimated at $3000.

On Dec. 6, a car driven by Kathleen Thoma, Grundy Center, was eastbound on D-35 when due to icy road conditions it crossed the center line and struck a bridge railing. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Thoma car was estimated at $1500.

On Dec. 6, a vehicle driven by Katherine Teeter, Conrad, was northbound on Highway 14 when due to icy road conditions it went out of control and entered the east ditch and rolled. No injuries were reported. Teeter was cited for driving while license is suspended. Damage to the Teeter vehicle was estimated at $9000.

On Dec. 5, a bus driven by Michael Hayes, Liscomb, and a vehicle driven by Kenneth Sharp, Conrad, collided in the intersection of Alice Street and Maple Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1000 each.

On Dec. 3, a car driven by Colby Steele, Dike, was southbound on Seventh Street in Dike and attempted to turn onto Daisy Street when it went out of control and entered a yard. Steele attempted to remove the car from the yard and became stuck. No injuries were reported. Steele was arrested for operating while intoxicated. Damage to the Steele car was estimated at $500.

On Nov. 28, a vehicle driven by Sharon Buseman, Aplington, was northbound on F Avenue when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Buseman vehicle was estimated at $3500.

On Nov. 27, a car driven by Richard Betz, Grimes, was southbound on Highway 14 when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Betz car was estimated at $4000.

On Nov. 23, a car driven by Kurtis Weeks, Grimes, was travelling north on First Street in Dike when it struck a deer on the bridge. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Weeks car was estimated at $2000.

On Nov. 22, a car driven by Joben Grimmius, Dike, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Grimmius was cited for driving while license suspended. Damage to the Grimmius car was estimated at $1500.

On Nov. 22, a car driven by Sara Durston, Schleswig, was westbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Durston car was estimated at $2500.

On Nov. 20, a car driven by Kara Heinrich, Wellsburg, was southbound on T-19 when it struck a deer. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Heinrich car was estimated at $3000.
