Nathan and Rachel Flathers of Bloomington, Minn., are the parents of a son, Isaac Daniel Flathers, born Oct. 31, 2008, weighing 9 pounds 4 ounces and measuring 22 inches long. Grandparents are Ron and Shelly Flathers of Quarry, and Sarah Eddy of Marshalltown. Great-grandparents are Doris Eddy of Gilman and the late Clyde Eddy, and Lester Flathers of Marshalltown and the late Dolly Flathers.

Jason and Natalie Boles of LeGrand are the parents of a son, Hayden John Boles, born at 3:08 p.m. on Dec. 17, 2008, at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. He joins a sister, Allison (2 1/2). Grandparents are Sara Carrigan of Eldora, Curt and Joyce Jung of Marshalltown, Ron Boles of Cedar Rapids and Bill Humes of Townville, Pa. Great-grandparents of Lori Carrigan of Houston, Texas, Everett and Dorothy Perry of Marshalltown, Maxine Boles of Toledo, the late John Carrigan and the late Don Boles.

Incidents
On Dec. 17, Julie Marie Giannetto, 205 Thomas Dr., reported hit and run damage to the driver's side mirror on a 1999 Ford Taurus while parked at 108 N. 15th St. Estimated value of damage was $200.
Accidents
On Dec. 11, a minivan driven by Elisa Mata, 615 Summit St., was southbound on South Center Street approaching the intersection with Olive Street when due to brake problems it sideswiped a car driven by Peter Green Rogers, 403 Wauconda Rd., which was stopped at the intersection. No injuries were reported. Mata was cited for failure to stop in a safe and sure distance and violation-financial liability-accident. Damage to the Rogers car was estimated at $800 while the Mata minivan received an estimated $600 in damage.
On Dec. 17, a vehicle driven by Sarina Kay Springer, Conrad, was travelling north in the 900 block of North Third Avenue when it struck a deer which in turn caused it to strike a guard rail owned by the Department of Transportation. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Springer vehicle was estimated at $5000 while the guard rail received an estimated $500 in damage.
Incidents
On Dec. 18, Kurt Leroy Lynch, 902 W. State St., reported hit and run damage to the rear bumper on a 2005 Chevy Impala while parked at his residence. Estimated value of damage was $2000.
Accidents
On Dec. 18, a car driven by Mario Lenin Flores, 305 Melody Lane Apt. #2, was eastbound on Southridge Road when it collided with the rear of a vehicle driven by Thomas Randall McCoy, 118 N. 1st St., which had slowed to make a left turn onto Dubois Circle. McCoy was possibly injured, but not treated or transported. Flores was cited for failure to stop in a safe and sure distance and failure to have a valid driver's license. Damage to the Flores car was estimated at $400 while the McCoy vehicle received an estimated $800 in damage.
On Dec. 18, an as yet unknown vehicle and driver collided with a legally parked car in the 900 block of West State Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the legally parked car was estimated at $2000.
