Walking two dogs who each have their own agenda at the same time can be frustrating especially as leashes get tangled up.
Fisher Elementary School student Lizzy Moore has found a solution for this problem with her invention known as the Doggie Dual Harness Connector.
The invention has won the fourth grader an award as being in the top 10 percent of competitors at a recent AEA regional competition at Marshalltown Community College and qualified her for the state invention convention April 27 at Iowa State University.
The invention is a rod with connectors that go to two dog harnesses with a connector for a leash in the middle.
"The rod keeps the dogs from pulling away in different directions and also keeps the dogs far enough apart they they do not bother each other," Moore wrote as part of her exhibit presentation. "Because there is only one leash connected to the rod it doesn't get tangled."
