Miller students tour Lennox factory

Workers on the Lennox factory floor had an audience Thursday as 375 eighth grade students from Miller Middler School toured their work area.

Lennox is Miller's business partner and employees had previously brought a heater and air conditioner to the school to show how they worked.

"The tour gives our students a connection with one of the most important industries in the history of Marshalltown,"said Miller Principal Brad Clement. "It's good for our students to get connected to the real world."

Terry Frederickson, employee services coordinator at Lennox, was one of the organizers of the tour which he said has been going on for nine years.

"A lot of times this is the only exposure some of them will ever have to a factory," he said. "This way the kids can actually see first hand things they have learned in the classroom."
