Incidents
On July 30, Michael Ray Harris, 105 E. Webster St. #105, reported damage to a window on a rental building. Estimated value of damage was $300.
Citations
On July 27, Larry David Roger, Conrad, was cited for theft, 5th degree from Wal-Mart, 2802 S. Center St.
On July 27, Stephanie Morgan Webber, Conrad, was cited for theft, 5th degree from Wal-Mart.
On July 27, Shelby Lynn See, Conrad, was cited for theft, 5th degree from Wal-Mart.
Arrests
On July 30, Martel Isaac Gadson, 412 S. 3rd St. Apt. #4, was arrested for public intoxication and possession of a Schedule IV Controlled substance without prescription (clonazepam).
On July 29, Thomas Leonard Cowell, LeGrand, was arrested for violation of no-contact order.
Grundy County Sheriff
Arrests
On July 31, Joseph Jones, age 18, Grundy Center, was arrested for serious assault. He is held in lieu of bond.
On July 31, Derek Johnson, age 22, Grundy Center, was arrested for operating while intoxicated. He posted bond and was released.
On July 30, Derek Weber, age 22, Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg on a Marshall County warrant charging him with contempt of court. He was released to Marshall County authorities.
Accidents
On Aug. 2, a minivan driven by Travis Downs, age, 21, Garwin, was westbound on D-67 when it failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection with Highway 14 and collided with a car driven by Kourtney Newby, age 18, Gilman, which was travelling south on Highway 14. Downs received minor injuries, but was not transported while Newby was transported to Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Downs was cited for operating while intoxicated, 2nd offense and other traffic charges. Damage to the Downs minivan was totaled while the Newby car received an estimated $7000 in damage.
On Aug. 2, a vehicle driven by Leah Jepsen, age 37, Pocahontas was westbound on Highway 20 when it missed an exit and attempted a U-turn in an area marked no U-turn and pulled in front of a vehicle driven by Laurie Thompson, age 47, Gainesville, Texas, at which time a collision occurred. No injuries were reported. Jepsen was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Jepson vehicle was estimated at $2000 while the Thompson vehicle received an estimated $1000 in damage.
On July 29, a vehicle driven by Melvin Dietrich, age 52, Reinbeck, was exiting a angle parking spot in the 100 block of Blackhawk Street when it exited incorrectly and collided with a vehicle driven by Robert Atkinson, age 52, Bristow. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dietrich vehicle was estimated at $3000 while the Atkinson vehicle received an estimated $5000 in damage.
On July 28, a vehicle driven by Harold Lindaman, age 78, Wellsburg, was westbound on D-17 when a deer came out of the south ditch and was struck. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Lindaman vehicle was $1500.
On July 28, a vehicle driven by Beth Jackley, age 51, Beaman, was northbound on M Avenue when it collided with the rear of a grader driven by Troy Barnes, age 44, Conrad, which was travelling north grading the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Jackley vehicle was estimated at $5000.
