Healthcare forum Sunday at Anson Park

By ANDREW POTTER, TIMES-REPUBLICAN
POSTED: August 7, 2009

The much-debated issue of health insurance reform will be the main focus of a town hall meeting Sunday at the shelter house in Anson Park in Marshalltown.

The group Organizing for America, a grassroots project of the Democratic National Committee, will host the meeting at 3 p.m.

The meeting will include a presentation about healthcare reform from Rep. Mark Smith, D-Marshalltown.

"I'll talk about the healthcare coverage commission that we started to look at the issues and the principles of healthcare reform," Smith said.

Smith said the event is meant to not only describe some of the work public officials are doing but also get feedback from area residents.

He said the goal of the event is "to get people's thoughts and concerns" about healthcare.

How can you separate the insurance company from the government? They sleep together! The government has allowed this kind of fraud to propagate and to run wild for the last 6 decades. Our government has turned fraud into a cottage industry and turned its back on the average American.

Look at the rate our national debt is increasing, Government sponsored insurance fraud and corporate welfare is the problem.

Our government has taken the constitution and turn it into a historical document instead of a living one.

LEFT wing? RIGHT wing? Can anyone really tell the difference?

We are all indentured servants!

Tough talk here from some of the stary-eyed Obama cult followers. People - be careful at that forum. If you exercise your freedom of speech with unkind words for Obama-Care, the thought police planted in the crowd may turn you in to the authorities in Washington.

Insurance companies take billions of dollars out of the U.S. healthcare wallet as profits, while imposing enormous administrative costs on doctors, hospitals, employers and patients. They've introduced complexity into the system at every level. Your doctor has to fight them to get approval for the treatment he or she thinks is best for you. Your hospital has to fight them for approval for every day you're laid up. Then they have to fight them to get their bills paid, and you do too. In Iowa, one insurer has 70% of the market. They have enormous power to drive up premiums and maximize profits and they will, year after year. Wake up puppet!
