Hollywood Video in Marshalltown closed its doors and is no longer in business.
There was no warning to employees of the closing of the store, which is located at 901 S. Center St. and rents movies and games to customers.
"It came as a shock," said Lori Mason, acting manager of the store who has worked there for four years. "It was a last minute corporate decision."

Hollywood Video in Marshalltown closed for business Wednesday night. Employees were told of the closing during the day Wednesday.
One employee, Brandon Edwards, was at the front door Thursday telling walk-up customers they are only taking movie returns.
"It just came out of the blue and the only thing that bothers me was we had no notice," Edwards said.
The regional manager of the store declined to comment and directed questions to the Hollywood Video corporate office. A message left at the corporate media relations office was not returned Thursday afternoon.
Though it's unclear what the reason for the closing was, Mason speculated it could be the economy.
When asked what the customers' reaction has been to the closing, Edwards said, "They are just as shocked as we are."
Edwards said the store had four employees.
Those who still have videos that belong to the store are asked to use the night drop box at the store.
Also, those on the monthly "Power Play" plan should expect a call about refunds in the next two weeks. If those on the plan do not get a call, they can call the customer service number at 1-877-325-8687.
