Fisher student is everybody’s friend

Fourth grader big on inclusion

Fisher Elementary School fourth grade student Olivia Hannam considers everyone her friend.

Hannam is quick to never leave anyone out of the mix, whether that be learning or playing.

"She is just amazing at including people even when they are not her close friends," said Angel Munson, Hannam's teacher at Fisher. "I've seen kids left out of games and she always goes over and invites them in. It builds a sense of community."

Hannam said she just likes to treat everybody equally.

"I just want to be kind to others," she said. "If they are sitting down I'll go up to someone and ask them to play."

Munson had Hannam as a third grader and "looped" up to fourth grade with her class. She has noticed Hannam's trait of inclusion the entire time she has taught her.

Munson also said Hannam is a student who is brimming with positivity.

"She's a girl with a positive attitude and doesn't let anything get her down," Munson said.

"She's friends with everybody."

When not in school, Hannam enjoys riding her bike, reading and hanging out with friends. She also has one brother and one sister.
