An eye on his future

December 21, 2009

Not many high school sophomores are already taking college credit courses but Kevin Nattinger has proven he can handle it.

The Marshalltown High School student is enrolled in general chemistry taught by Mike Loupee.

"This is a college credit class and for him to take it as a sophomore and be successful is impressive," Loupee said.

It seems Nattinger always has an eye on his future and takes his schoolwork seriously.

"When you have the opportunity to get a good education you want to take advantage of it, because before you know it, you'll be in college" Nattinger said.

Loupee said Nattinger has a great scientific mind and feels his future is bright.

"What he sets his mind to he's going to achieve," Loupee said. "He's got the intelligence and has a good work ethic."

Aside from working toward his future, Nattinger also is on the basketball team, the math team and involved in youth groups.

He said he may want to study to be some type of engineer in college.
