A new math curriculum has helped a Fisher Elementary School student grow in her numbers knowledge.

Daniela Fernandez, 8, a third grade student, has used the new enVisions math program to help her learn.

The new curriculum uses a computer and projector and puts numbers along with pictures on a screen.

"It's very visual and helps her go beyond the black and white that's in the textbook," said Julie Trickett, Fernandez's teacher at Fisher.

According to the teacher, Fernandez's improvement in math is impressive.

"She's done exceptional this year to show improvement with math," Trickett said. "She never gives up."

Trickett said her student's attitude toward math is refreshing as she will often times beg to solve more math problems.

So why does Fernandez like to do the math problems so much?

"They're fun," she said.
