With her mastery of the English language Thay Eh Paw blends right into her fourth grade class at Hoglan Elementary School.

It's amazing to learn the 10-year-old girl only started learning the English two years ago when her family moved to the United States from Burma. They previously lived in Michigan and this is her first year in Marshalltown schools. She not only blends in with other students she is one of the top readers in the class.

"I'm just very impressed with how quickly she picks things up," said her teacher Ryan Burke. "That just shows you how hard she works and how bright she is."

Thay Eh Paw loves math and reading and takes school very seriously.

"School is important because you get to learn more," she said.

Burke said it's evident that Thay Ew Paw wants to learn everyday she arrives at school.

"She's very focused and she comes to school everyday ready from the start," he said. "She has a positive attitude at all times."
