At Fisher Elementary School they have an acronym which is designed to guide the students to success. It's known as CATS, which stands for Caring Active Thinking Students.

Fisher first grade teacher Mary Pepper said her student, Victor Herrera, is a prime example what that acronym represents.

"That's exactly what Victor is," Pepper said. "He exemplifies what a good role model is."

Pepper said she has received the same type of feedback on Herrera from his other teachers at the school.

"Other teachers are consistent in saying we wish we had 20 Victors," Peeper said. "Victor is very respectful to all teachers in our building as well as his classmates."

Herrera, 7, said his favorite subject is math.

"We get to learn how to do problems," Herrera said.
