LE GRAND - Cole Thompson's 10-yard touchdown run with 1:14 remaining capped BCLUW's late rally to win its football season opener over East Marshall, 26-22.
The host Mustangs led 22-19 in the late going Friday, but could not close it out with the Comets recovering a fumble at its 45-yard line with 2:08 remaining.
Thompson's 10-yard TD run along with the PAT by Mac Simpson pushed BCLUW ahead 26-22.
The final possession for East Marshall ended on a Thompson interception with 50 seconds remaining.
In a game that featured seven lead changes, Thompson ended the night with 20 rushes for 154 yards and two scores. Isaac Novak rushed for a score and threw a touchdown pass to Zach Cashin.
East Marshall's Walker Steward finished 9-for-11 passing for 180 yards with a pair of scores. Josh Wilson had five catches for 88 yards and a TD. Mitch Berry added two receptions for 76 yards and a score to go with a kickoff return TD.

Gladbrook-Reinbeck 25, South Hardin 7
GLADBROOK - Parker Bolt passed for two touchdowns and ran for another as Gladbrook-Reinbeck defeated South Hardin, 25-7, Friday night in non-district football action.
Bolt finished the night with 145 yards passing and another 55 on the ground in just three carries.
Ryan Strohlbehn added 77 rushing yards and a one-yard touchdown in the first quarter for the Rebels (1-0). Cobren Bird had six catches for 82 yards and a TD while Kevin Trobaugh had a 16-yard touchdown catch.
Brady Billerbeck notched 11 tackles on the night for G-R, which faces Grundy Center on the road next week.
South Hardin has its home opener against South Hamilton next Friday.
