Candice Jo Trowbridge, 306 S. 9th St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a unauthorized driver charge. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 6.

Sabir Martin Mamor, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 28. Mamor was released through the Department of Correctional Services and is to contact them within 48 hours. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Jacob Lawrence Hansen, 704 W. Olive St., made an initial appearance on a burglary, third degree charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Wyatt Kane Slinker, 305 S. 10th St., made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 13. Slinker was released on his own recognizance.

Thomas John Vaughn, 920 May St., made an initial appearance on a murder in the first degree charge and a robbery, first degree charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 17. Vaughn is being held without bond.

Shane D. Rose, 2008 Blossom Lane, made an additional appearance on a possession of stolen property charge and a theft, first degree charge, a neglect of dependent person charge and a burglary, third degree charge. Bond is now set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Shelby Marie Benesh, of Tama, made an initial appearance on a no insurance charge, a speeding charge and a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge. She pleaded guilty to the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and the speeding charge. The fine on the speeding charge was $80 with a $28 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $168 due immediately. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately. The no insurance charge was dismissed when evidence was produced with court costs of $60 being charged which are due immediately.

Adam Dean Bingham, of Montour, made an initial appearance on a failure to yield charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 13.

Nicholas Joe Pefferman, 2106 Summit St., made an initial appearance on a no driver's license charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 13.

Michelle Lynn Williams, of Green Mountain, made an initial appearance on a failure to have a valid driver's license charge, a no insurance charge, a speeding charge, a driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and a failure to secure a child under the age of 18 charge. She pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended charge and the no insurance charge the fines were $250 each with a $87.50 surcharge on each and a $60 in court costs on each for a total of $397.50 each due immediately. The fine on the failure to have a valid driver's license charge was $200 with a $70 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $335 due immediately. On the speeding charge the fine was $40 with a $14 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $119 due immediately. The fine on the failure to secure a child charge was $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $200.

Incidents

On Feb. 2 a resident, of State Center, reported for the Marshall County Road, 803 E. Boone St., damage to two wooden posts and a metal post on Stanley Mill Road and Lafayette Avenue. Estimated value of damage was $100.

Arrests

On Monday Christopher Allen Kinkennon, 405 W. Church St. Apt. #4, was arrested for serious assault.

On Friday Ryan Wade Purdy, 2328A Zeller Ave., and 2054 Wallace Ave., was arrested for failure to appear.

On Feb. 2 Ignacio Lara-Valencia, of State Center, was arrested for driving under the influence.

On Feb. 2 Jamie Todd Holmes, of Williamson, was arrested for serious assault.

On Jan. 30 Eli Miles Dobbs, of Garwin, was arrested for voluntary absence from custody.

Accidents

On Tuesday a pickup driven by Ervin Louis Harre, 2561 Reed Ave., was attempting to enter the traveled portion of Highway 14 when it collided with a car driven by Kristin VanGundy, 2628C Reed Ave., which was northbound on Highway 14. VanGundy and Harre were both transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. Harre was cited for failure to yield upon entering a through highway. Damage to the Harre pickup was estimated at $9,000 while the VanGundy car received an estimated $7,000 in damage.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7, a vehicle driven by Ilene Darla Pieters, 115 N. 10th Ave., was westbound on 206th Street when it hit an icy spot on the gravel, went out of control and entered the south ditch where it impacted the passenger side front bumper and tire. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pieters vehicle was estimated at $1,500.
