DES MOINES - The Des Moines Area Sports Commission is asking central Iowans to vote now for their favorite local sports performances of 2011, and the Marshalltown area has three high school nominees.

The Central Iowa Sports Awards (CISA) will be given to individuals and teams who have pursued athletic excellence with honor in 2011. Award winners will be named at the CISA banquet on Feb. 26 at Forte Banquet and Conference Center in downtown Des Moines.

Marshalltown High School quarterback Blake Gimbel is one of five nominees for Male Athlete of the Year, while North Tama's Kailey Kladivo is up for Female Athlete of the Year.

The national scoring record-setting girls' basketball game between Gladbrook-Reinbeck and West Marshall is one of four nominees for Game of the Year.

Online voting is open now through Sunday at SeeDesMoines.com/CISA or DesMoinesSports.com/CISA.
