Welcoming Xania home are big brothers: Alejandro and Enrique and big sister, Emiliana. Grandparents are Richard and Michelle Ritter, of Le Grand; Linda and Russ Moore, of Marshalltown; Rudy Perez, of Greeley, Colo., and Marie and Nico Camargo, of El Paso, Texas.

Tom and Kelcy Gabriel, of Marshalltown, became the parents of a son, Carter Thomas, born Jan. 12 at 2:29 p.m. at Mary Greeley Hospital in Ames weighing 6 pounds 1 ounce and measuring 18 inches long. Grandparents are Jerry and Claudia Flathers, of Marshalltown, and Mark and Revae Gabriel, of Tama.

Logan Michael Chester, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a theft, fourth degree charge. Chester will hire Sharon Greer to represent him in this case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on March 1. He was released on his own recognizance.

Veronica Aguilera-Lopez, 1112 E. State St., made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 20.

Rafael Ordonez-Martinez, 510 N. 14th Ave., made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately.

Francisco Ibarra, 926 S. 11th Ave., made an initial appearance on a compulsory education violation charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195 due immediately.

Jonathan Robert Junior, 111 W. Grant St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 20. He may have a current license.

Shawntale Marie Wood, of Burnside, made an initial appearance on a theft, second degree charge and two counts of a forgery charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle her cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 20. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Susan Faye Untiedt, address unknown, made an initial appearance through counsel, Sharon Greer, on a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 20.

David Gomez Patlan, of Albion, made an initial appearance in writing on a no driver's license charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 20.

Bryan Todd Christy, 2550 Smith Ave., made an initial appearance on a motor vehicle fraudulent practices improper use charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately.

Cesar Amaya-Crantarero, 308 1/2 E. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a obstruction of emergency communications charge. The charge was dismissed with court costs of $60 due immediately.

Lucas Wyatt Smalllegs-Goose, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a speeding charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $125 with a $43.75 surcharge, $5 county enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $233.75 due immediately.

Amber Marie Baker, 1301 S. 2nd Ave., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $320 plus attorney fees due immediately.

On Tuesday Shane Dean Rose, 2008 Blossom Lane, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Monday Ezekiel Gonzalez Garcia, 1401 S. 17th Ave., Half-Way House, was arrested for absence from custody.

On Feb 3, Joey Edward Lutes, 2467 Jefferson Dr., was arrested for possession with the intent to deliver marijuana, prohibited acts and failure to affix a drug tax stamp.

On Wednesday Stephanie Vania Jewell, of Ames, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Wednesday Blair Lynn Foy, address unknown, was arrested for theft, second degree and forgery.

On Wednesday Christopher Allen Kinkennon, 405 W. Church St. Apt. #4, was arrested for simple assault.

Incidents

On Thursday Joseph Johnson, of State Center, reported the theft of a book bag from a 1997 Ford Ranger while parked in the Marshall Town Center, 2500 S. Center St. Estimated value of loss was $150.

Arrests

On Thursday Demetreis Damar Bloch, of Des Moines, was arrested for two counts of theft, fifth degree and interference with official acts.

On Wednesday Kelcy Bond, of Liscomb, was arrested for theft from building.
