Incidents

On Tuesday a person associated with Quality Services Corporation, 1701 E. Anson St., reported the theft of 15 brake drums from the business. Estimated value of loss was $275.

Citations

On Tuesday Jarrod Raymond Laughlin, 703 S. 12th Ave. Apt. #4, was cited for theft, third degree from Wal-Mart.

On Sunday a juvenile from Marshalltown was cited for theft, fifth degree from Kum & go.

On Sunday Britney Ann Thompson, 1001 Finkle Ave., was cited for theft, fifth degree from Kum & Go.

On Saturday Natasha Jo McDermott, of Gilman, was cited for lascivious acts with a child and sexual abuse, third degree.

On Friday Patrick Scott Sharp, 2707 Jessup Ave., was cited for theft, fifth degree from Wal-Mart.

On Jan. 23, Antonio Banderas-Ramos, 922 N. 5th Ave., was cited for theft, fifth degree from Wal-Mart.

Arrests

On Tuesday John Thomas Wallace, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #3, was arrested for burglary, third degree.

On Tuesday, Feb. 14, Derick Allen Bryan, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #3, was arrested for burglary, third degree.

Accidents

On Tuesday a minivan driven by Mindy Sue Kunkel, 2010 Blossom Lane, was southbound on North Third Avenue in the inside lane when it attempted to change lanes and collided with a car driven by Lavern Marvin Wolken, 1797 Underwood Ave., which was traveling south in the outside lane. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kunkel minivan was estimated at $2,000 while the Wolken car received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

On Feb. 14 a car driven by Dolores Lorene Horn, 2307 Edgebrook Dr., was southbound on South Third Avenue when it failed to obey a red light at the intersection with East Linn Street and collided with a pickup driven by Rudy Alberts Frye, 1403 S. 4th St., which was traveling east on Linn Street. No injuries were reported. Horn was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device. Damage to the Horn car was estimated at $3,000 while the Frye pickup received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On Feb. 14 a car driven by Shane Michael Zellmer, 201 W. Southridge Rd., was turning left from North Center Street onto North Third Street when it cut the corner too sharply and collided with a vehicle driven by Aung Nine Oo, 517 N. 3rd St. Apt. B, which was traveling north on Third Street and stopped at the stop sign. No injuries were reported. Zellmer was cited for improper use of lanes while Oo was cited for failure to carry registration. Damage to the Zellmer car was estimated at $2,000 while the Oo vehicle received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

On Feb. 13, a minivan driven by Patricia Valdez, 309 NewCastle Rd., was southbound on South First Avenue when it went out of control and slid into the ditch where it struck a signpost belonging to the City of Marshalltown at the intersection of First Avenue and Bohen Street. No injuries were reported. Valdez was cited for failure to maintain control. Damage to the Valdez minivan was estimated at $1,500 while the signpost received an estimated $50 in damage.

Wednesday

Rock Roy Riedi, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #401, made an initial appearance on two counts of a harassment, third degree charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 20. Riedi was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

John Thomas Wallace, 502 E. Main St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a burglary, third degree charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 27. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Patrick Scott Sharp, 2707 Jessup Ave., made an initial appearance on a theft, fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 due immediately plus restitution, if applicable.

Demetreis Demar Bloch, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The file was forwarded to the District Associate Court for scheduling of the Probation Revocation Hearing as their docket permits. Bond is set at $2,000 cash only.

Dustin Gene Williams, 211 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. Accidents

On Feb. 13 a semi driven by Tobias Allen Boettcher, of Clarence, was westbound on Highway 30 on the inside lane when during an attempt to pass anther vehicle it went out of control, entered the median where it jack-knifed and struck the guard rail and bridge belonging to the Iowa Department of Transportation. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Boettcher semi was estimated at $20,000 while the guardrail and bridge received an estimated $5,000 in damage.
