Becky and Shawn Sonberg, of Mitchell, are the parents of a son Oliver James born at 11:36 a.m. Feb. 8 at Floyd County Medical Center in Charles City weighing 7 pounds 15 ounces and measuring 20 inches long. He joins two brothers Easton Wayne and Jasper Jay and sister Lyla Grace. Grandparents are Judy and Don Stalzer, of Haverhill; Donna and Jim Sonberg, of Mitchell; and great-grandparents Annette Sonberg and Eugene and Magdaline Wagner, all of Osage.
Eli and Amanda Dobbs, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Attalie Elizabeth Rose Dobbs, born Jan. 25 at 5:48 a.m. at MMSC. Attalie joins brothers Peyton and Mylan. Grandmother is Rose McMullen, of Marshalltown, great-grandmother is the late Elizabeth Catlett, of Marshalltown.
Trent and Jennifer Walkup, of Des Moines, are the proud parents of a son, Max James, born on Jan. 26 weighing 5 pounds 4 ounces. Max joins big brother, Gavin, 1. Grandparents are Mike and Deanna Berkey, of Le Grand, and Jim and Brenda Walkup, of Marshalltown. Great-grandparents are Ott and Rita Rhodes, of Le Grand.

Jarod and Angie Gunderson, of Melbourne, are the parents of a daughter, Kenzie Faith Gunderson, born at 7:53 a.m. on Feb. 16 at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Welcoming Kenzie home are big sisters: Maggie and Maya and big brother Gage. Grandparents are Mark and Peggy Watson, of Marshalltown, and Rex and Cheryl Gunderson, of Van Cleave.

Brenton Oscar Sielaff, 1402 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #102, made an initial appearance on a theft, fifth degree charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75 due immediately plus restitution, if applicable.
Britney Ann Thompson, 1001 Finkle Ave., made an initial appearance on a theft, fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on March 27. Thompson was released on her own recognizance.
Raymond Willson, 105 S. 5th St. Apt. #2, made an initial appearance on three counts of a forgery charge, a ongoing criminal conduct charge, a theft, third degree charge and a warrant for violation of Pre-Trial Release. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on March 5. Bond is set at $32,000 cash or surety. The Pre-Trial Conference and Trial dates and times remain the same.
Russell Gentry, 409 N. 7th Ave., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a interference with official acts charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and three counts of a probation violation charge. The court appointed Norma Meade to represent Gentry in these matters. The Preliminary Hearing was waived. Bond of $6,000 for the three probation revocation charges remains as posted. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 3:15 p.m. on March 5.
Montice Allen, 9 E. Ferner St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge, a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a speeding charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle these cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on March 14. Allen was released on his own recognizance.
Marshalltown Police Department
On Thursday Wag Eiai Abushlioukh, 302 S. 3rd Ave. Apt. #4, reported damage to two tires on a 2001 Chevy Blazer while parked at his residence. Estimated value of damage was $100.
On Friday a Dodge Ram pickup driven by an as yet unknown driver was eastbound in the 2200 block of East Main Street when it ran off the road to the right, hit a tree and came to rest on its top. The driver left the scene of the accident. No injuries were reported. Damage to the pickup was estimated at $5,500.
On Wednesday a pickup driven by Nicole Hamilton Vroman-Bovee, 1313 S. 2nd Ave., was exiting in a southerly direction from a parking stall in the Iowa Veterans Home North Employee parking lot when it collided with the driver's side rear door and quarter panel car driven by Charity Joy Bandstra, 3329 Garwin Rd., which was traveling east through the parking lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Vroman-Bovee pickup was estimated at $250 while the Bandstra car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.
