March 14

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a medical assist with the EMS crew to 101 NewCastle Rd.

March 15

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unauthorized burning at 601 E. Anson St., a road freight or transport vehicle fire at 810 E. Main St., and eight medical assists with the EMS crew to: 308 W. Meadow Lane, 301 N. 3rd St., 203 N. 11th St., 500 Bromley St., 3700 S. Center St., 105 N. Center St., 913 S. 6th Ave., and 2104 S. 3rd Ave.

March 16

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an oil/combustible liquid spill at 900 N. Center St., an outside rubbish fire at 1408 E. Main St., a motor vehicle accident/no injuries at 400 E. Nevada St., an alarm system activation/no fire at 106 College Dr., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1211 W. State St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to: 102 S. 29th St., and 3202 S. 12th St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an alarm system activation/no fire at 1402 S. 17th Ave., an alarm system sounded due to malfunction at 101 W. Iowa Ave., a detector activation/no fire at 112 College Dr., two citizen complaints at 923 E. May St., and 206 W. Nevada St., and three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 521 N. 1st St., 112 N. 3rd St., and 203 1/2 S. 3rd Ave.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a dispatched/cancelled en route to 1833 N. Reed Ave., an outside rubbish fire at 804 E. May St., and two medical assists with the EMS crew to 106 E. Webster St., and 202 N. 2nd Ave.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke or odor removal at 616 Summit St., a motor vehicle accident with injuries on South Third Avenue, a grass fire at 1008 W. Nevada St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2010 Edgebrook Dr., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 422 W. High St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., 1707 S. 7th Ave., and 1509 E. Marion St.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 303 Nicholas Dr., 603 Lee St., 1410 W. Church St., 407 W. Church St., 204 N. 3rd St., 110 College Dr., and 1707 S. 7th Ave.

Wednesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call to 907 E. Iowa Ave., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1301 E. Madison St., 9 S. 6th St., 2802 S. Center St., and 10 W. State St.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Paula Strague, 802 S. 3rd Ave., reported damage to a copper pipe from an air conditioning unit at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $200.

Arrests

On Wednesday, Maung Oo, address unknown, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Tuesday, Bethany Sue Mayer, 603 E. Main St. Apt. #2, was arrested for child endangerment, possession of a Schedule I Controlled substance (marijuana) and possession of a Schedule II Controlled substance (cocaine)/with the intent to deliver.

On Tuesday, John Demetrus Wallace, 603 E. Main St. Apt. #2, was arrested for possession of a Schedule II Controlled substance (cocaine)/with the intent to deliver, child endangerment and possession of a Schedule I Controlled substance (marijuana).

Accidents

On Monday, a car driven by Brandon Kristopher Bills, 301 Pleasantview Rd., was southbound on South Third Avenue approaching the intersection with May Street when it collided with the rear of a minivan driven by Gregorio Torres Sosa, 305 Friendly Dr., which was stopped awaiting to turn left onto May Street. Torres Sosa was injured, but not treated at the scene or transported. Bills was cited for following too closely. Damage to the Bills car was estimated at $4,000 while the Torres Sosa minivan received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

On March 15, a car driven by Thomas Paul Severson, 2215 Stratford Lane, was northbound on South Center Street near Southridge Road when it collided with the rear of a minivan driven by Chidambara Krishna Bhaskara, of Sherman, Texas, which had stopped for an approaching ambulance with sirens. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,500.

On March 7, a car driven by Rex Emerson Lewis, 2209 Sugar Creek Lane, was pulling into a parking spot at K-Mart when it sideswiped a legally parked vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $1,000 each.

Court

Thursday

Maung Oo, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning April 20 until the debt is completed.

Ezekiel Garcia, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 3 p.m. on April 18. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Tyler Reisinger, 311 N. 12th Ave., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 24. Reisinger was released on his own recognizance.

Rock Ray Riedi, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #401, made an initial appearance on a harassment, third degree charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. The court appointed Laura Sopher to represent him in these cases. The Contempt Hearing will be scheduled by the Magistrate Court as their docket permits. He pleaded not guilty to the harassment, third degree charge and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 24. Bond is set at $1,300 for both charges cash or surety. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.
