Local man charged after BB gun incident
A Marshalltown man faces charges after pointing a BB gun at a woman in a threatening manner.
Joseph Bellus, 23, allegedly pointed the gun at the victim on Monday at approximately 2:30 p.m. at 403 1/2 N. Second Ave.
Bellus is charged with aggravated assault because he portrayed the BB gun as real fire arm, police said.
He made an initial court appearance Tuesday and was issued a $2,000 bond. A no contact order was issued for the victim.
Man charged with serious domestic assault
A Marshalltown man is charged with serious domestic assault following an argument in the Community Y parking lot Sunday.
Juan Martinez, 22, allegedly struck his girlfriend during the fight at 108 Washington St. at about 4:50 p.m.
The victim suffered a cut lip, but did not require medical attention.
V&V Storage burglarized
Multiple storage units were recently burglarized at V&V Storage, 802 Washington St.
Police say that several storage locks were cut, but the reporting party only verified a missing Denon home theater receiver at the time of the report. The item is valued at $300. The incident remains under investigation.

On March 26, Michaela Gienger, of Des Moines, was arrested for contempt of failure to appear.
On Sunday, a vehicle driven by James Garrett Roberts, of Tama, was eastbound on 240th Street when it entered the median, crossed westbound traffic, went up an embankment clipping a guide wire for the utility pole, barely missing a parked car in the driveway at 3049 240th St., and came to rest after striking a tree. Roberts was possibly injured, but not treated or transported. Roberts was cited for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended and no insurance. Damage to the Roberts vehicle was estimated at $8,000 while the guide wire received an estimated $1,000 in damage and the tree owned by Michael Jackley received an estimated $500 in damage.
On Saturday, a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Ann Kenney, of Conrad, was traveling north/northeast on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kenney vehicle was estimated at $3,000.
On March 28, a vehicle driven by Phillip Jared Cross, of Melbourne, was southbound on Reed Avenue when, due to the driver becoming distracted, it collided with a car driven by Ashton Elizabeth Baardseth, 2665 Reed Ave., which had slowed to turn into a residential driveway sending it into a mailbox and the west ditch before coming to rest back up on the shoulder. Cross and passengers Ryne Downey and Tyler Downey, both of 2665 Reed Ave., were transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with injuries. Cross was cited for failure to stop within an assured and clear distance and no insurance. Damage to the Cross vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Baardseth car received an estimated $4,500 in damage and the mailbox belonging to Denise Downey, 2659 Reed Ave., an estimated $250 in damage.
