Mom charged with OWI, child endangerment

Police charged a Marshalltown woman with operating while impaired and child endangerment on Sunday.

Savanna Danielle Ruffin, 28, faces serious and aggravated misdemeanor charges after she allegedly drove while intoxicated with her 11-year-old sister and 10-year-old son in the car on the 500 block of North Center Street, according to police reports.

Danielle Ruffin is being held on $2,000 bond.

Domestic dispute erupts into violence

A domestic dispute at 209 S. Fourth Ave. turned violent on Sunday.

Following an argument Douglas Trowbridge, 50, allegedly punched his wife in the face breaking her nose, according to police reports.

Trowbridge is charged with aggravated domestic assault, an aggravated misdemeanor. He is being held without bond.

Angry mother cited for trespassing

Police cited an irate mother Friday afternoon after she refused to leave the Marshalltown High School.

The woman, April Kvinlaug, 53, of Marshalltown became agitated following an incident involving her daughter, a student at MHS, being disciplined for using a cell phone at the school.

Administrators called Kvinlaug to the school to retrieve the cell phone from her daughter, said Capt. Mike Hanken of the Marshalltown Police Department.

He said, during the exchange, Kvinlaug became verbally abusive to MHS administrators, who then repeatedly asked her to leave school property.

When she refused, police arrived and issued the citation.
