Thursday

Lashonda Duett Johnson, of Ames, made an initial appearance on a theft, third degree charge, a removal of theft detection device charge and a contributing to the delinquency of a minor charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle her cases. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 4. Johnson was released on her own recognizance.

Christopher Bounmy, 519 N. Center St., made an initial appearance on a voluntary absence from custody charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 25. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

Chad Walker, 2306 S. 6th St., made an initial appearance on a serious domestic assault charge. He will retain his own counsel in this matter before the court. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 4. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Christopher Martin Nemeth, of Griffith, Ind., made an initial appearance on a public intoxication charge. He pleaded guilty. The judgment was deferred. Nemeth was placed in unsupervised probation for six months with these conditions: pay a fine of $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 from bond money; obey all laws and abstain from the use of alcohol. The remainder of the bond money was returned to Nemeth.

Teresa Ann Bloomquist, 1509 Marion St. Apt. A1, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75 due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning June 14 until the debt is completed.

Dylan Frye, 308 W. State St., made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 10 a.m. on June 27. Frye was released on his own recognizance by agreement of the State.

Tim Kasal, of Le Grand, made an initial appearance on a operating while intoxicated charge. He will retain Barry Kaplan to represent him in this matter. The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 4. Kasal was ordered to obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days.

May 10

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a chemical spill at 200 E. Anson St., two dispatched/cancelled en route to 303 Nicholas Dr., and 1806 S. 4th St., and seven medical assists with the EMS crew to: 407 W. Church St., 210 S. 5th St., 207 W. Nevada St., 400 W. Main St., 101 W. Iowa Ave., 1206 S. 7th Ave., and 407 W. Main St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 1503 W. Lincolnway, a false alarm at 914 Jackson St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 402 W. Church St., 1911 Summit St., East Olive Street and 3202 S. 12th St.

Saturday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two overheated motor calls at 103 Harmony Dr., and 910 E. Olive St., an unauthorized burning at 214 N. 2nd St., an outside rubbish fire at 408 E. Ferner St., a gas leak at 3202 S. 12th St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: South Sixth Street, 9 E. State St., 1224 Marshall Dr., 714 Lincolnway, and 603 Summit St.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three outside rubbish fires at: 713 N. 5th Ave., 407 S. 1st St., and 903 S. 12th St., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 101 NewCastle Rd., 3012 S. Center St., 207 Koeper Dr., and 710 Noble St.
