Marshalltown is a premier city

June 1, 2012
Curt Loney, Marshalltown , Times-Republican

Marshalltown is moving toward becoming a premier city in the great state of Iowa. From the young people up, we need to come together and help this happen. We need to get behind our pacesetter, Emerson, to do whatever it takes to help our city reach the goal of becoming even more of a prime city in our state.

Whether we are young or old, involved in business, manufacturing, education, farming, or professional work, we should get involved with the problems of litter, crime, and building repair.

Why wait for an organized program? There are simple things we each can do. For example, when we walk or jog; we can stop and pick up litter. Young people, invent your own projects and the rest of us can help to make them come true. Exciting!

Our city has had its ups and downs. From my perspective, our ups outnumber the downs. June could be the starting point with the goal post in our future. We can work together to make Marshalltown the place that we all want it to be; a leader in the great state of Iowa!

Think positive! Do what you do in your own way and whatever works for you. It feels good!
