Ross and Amy Thede, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son Bennett William Thede, born at 2:18 p.m. on May 29 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines , weighing 8 pounds 12 ounces and measuring 21 1/2 inches long. Bennett was welcomed into the family by big brothers Riley (6) and Garrett (2). Grandparents are Dave and Denise Riley, of Peterson; Linda and Max McCoy, of Norwalk; and Dean and Cindy Thede, of Waterloo. Great-grandparents: Deloris Riley, of Spencer; Helen Carrington, of Spencer; Delane Thede, of Reinbeck; and Donald Rhoades, of Reinbeck.

Joel and Melissa Oetker, of Bakersfield, Calif., are parents of son, Benjamin Henry, born at 4:07 a.m. on May 31 weighing 6 pounds and 15 ounces and measuring 21 inches long. Grandparents are Jim and Deb Wagoner, of Bakersfield, Calif., and Ken and Reta Oetker, of Marshalltown.

Adam and Beth Shepherd, of Rockford, Mich., are the parents of a son, Nolan William Shepherd, born May 16. Welcoming Nolan home is big sister Paige, 3. Grandparents are Craig and Janet Shepherd, formerly of Marshalltown, of Grand Rapids, Mich., and Jeff and Vera Massey, of Algonquin, Ill.

Gabrielle Taft, of Marshalltown, is the mother of a daughter, Anastashia Serenity Richard born at 5:24 p.m. on May 30 at MMSC.

Mike and Angela Ulch, of Marshalltown, are the parents of a daughter, Mckenzie Lyle Ulch born at 12:35 p.m. on June 4 at MMSC. Mckenzie joins big brothers, Preston and Tanner Eygabroad.

Incidents

On Wednesday, an employee with Legends, 2902 S. Center St., reported the theft from a Legends bank account and from an individual. Estimated value of loss was $1,682.

On Tuesday, John Allen, 1907 S. 4th Ave., reported the theft nine assorted rings from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $2,500.

On Tuesday, Maricela Maravilla-Ordaz, 202 N. 13th St., reported the theft of a Sanyo 52 inch flatscreen TV, a Sony 48 inch flatscreen TV and a Nintendo DS XL from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,400.

Citations

On Wednesday, Sadie Ellen Wagner, 1604 W. Main St., was cited for theft, fifth degree from Walmart.

Arrests

On Thursday, Maik Lira, 504 1/2 N. 1st St., was arrested for driving while barred.

On Wednesday, Robert Anthony Ratliff, 1407 S. 7th Ave. Apt. #207, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On Wednesday, Juan Pedro Amaya, 710 Noble St., was arrested for sniffing a chemical substance.

On Tuesday, Ranae Lea Osgood, 308 S. 12th Ave. Place, was arrested for theft, fifth degree from Fareway.

On Tuesday, Nicholas Lee Davis, 3202 S. 12th St. Lot #34, was arrested for trespass and public intoxication.

On Tuesday, Wag Eialla Abd El Abushlioukh, 302 S. 3rd Ave. Apt. #4, was arrested for aggravated assault.

On May 23, Breianna Marie, 1907 S. 4th Ave., was arrested for theft, second degree.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a car driven by Ralph Charles Kosbau, 1211 W. State St. #301, was westbound in the 1000 block of Summit Street when it got too close and sideswiped a legally parked car. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Kosbau car was estimated at $1,000 while the legally parked car received an estimated $800 in damage.

On Monday, a minivan driven by Ellis Wade Buchwald, 710 N. 4th St., was southbound on North Third Avenue when it ran a red light and collided with a car driven by Emily Christeen Profitt, 208 1/2 E. Church St., which was traveling east on State Street. No injuries were reported. Buchwald was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device while Profitt was cited for driving while license is denied, cancelled, revoked or suspended. Damage to the Buchwald minivan was estimated at $700 while the Profitt car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Kaitlyn Brafford, 615 1/2 W. Nevada St., reported the theft of a wallet, a pink Nike bag, jewelry and clothing from a bag at the Aquatic Center, 302 Washington St. Estimated value of loss was $125.

On Wednesday, June 6, Joy Ahmed, 304 S. 2nd Ave. Apt. B, reported the theft of clothing and shoes from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,000.

Arrests

On May 31, Brian Daniel McCubbins, of Melbourne, was arrested for public intoxication.

On May 30, Rock Ray Riedi, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #401, was arrested for violation of a no-contact order.

On May 30, Ryan Wade Purdy, 2328A Zeller Ave., was arrested for three counts of careless driving.

On May 27, Heriberto Silva, of Des Moines, was arrested for trespass of real property.

Accidents

On Sunday, a car driven by Sean Patrick Davies, of Aplington, was eastbound on 230th Street when, due to entering a curve in the roadway at too fast a speed, the vehicle skid into the ditch, through the ditch entering the next roadway and then partially into the east ditch before coming to a stop. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Davies car was estimated at $7,500.
