Git-n-Go employee allegedly steals deposit money

Police arrested a woman for allegedly stealing more than $500 from her employer back in May.

Jennifer Richey, 32, of Marshalltown, stands accused of taking a bank deposit bag from Git-n-Go on South Center Street where she worked as a clerk, said Capt. Mike Hanken of the Marshalltown Police Department.

After questioning her Monday at the Marshalltown Police Department, police charged Richey with third-degree theft, an aggravated misdemeanor, Hanken said.

Police made the details of Richey's arrest available Thursday.

Patrick Bracy, 11 E. North St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $87 in court costs for a total of $424.50 due immediately. The fine on the no insurance charge was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 due immediately. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning July 11 until the debts are completed on both charges.

Phillip Head, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a probation violation charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Probation Revocation Hearing is set for 3:15 p.m. on July 18. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Rock Ray Riedi, 1 W. Grant St. Apt. #401, made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The court appointed Laura Sopher to represent him in this case. Anthony Paul Allen, 703 Fremont St., made an initial appearance on a criminal mischief, fifth degree charge, a public intoxication charge and a public urination charge. Allen pleaded guilty to the public intoxication charge and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195 due immediately. The criminal mischief charge and public urination charge were both dismissed with court costs of $60 each for a total of $120 due immediately.

Daniel Todd Branon, c/o Marshall County Jail, made an initial appearance on a sex abuse, third degree charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The court allowed for her to do 27 hours of community service in lieu of the fine, surcharge and court costs to be completed by Oct. 15.

The Preliminary Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on July 2. Cramp was released under the supervision of the Department of Correctional Services and is to contact them within 24 hours.

Tyler Rundall, 1510 Fremont St., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The Public Defender's Office was appointed to handle his case. The Contempt Hearing is set for 1 p.m. on June 29. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Megan Lee Needs, 412 S. 3rd St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, two counts of a driving under suspension charge and a no insurance charge. She pleaded not guilty and a Pre-Trial Conference is set for 9 a.m. on July 17. Bond will continue as posted.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 501 Laurel Dr., 301 S. 6th St., South 12th Street, 14 W. Linn St., and 1308 E. Madison St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a false alarm at 1301 Summit St., two extrications of victims in the 1200 block of East Iowa Avenue and the 300 block of South Third Street, smoke detector activation at 1301 Summit St., two outside rubbish fires at 200 S. 1st St., and 209 S. 3rd St., and four medical assists to: 309 E. Linn St., 409 Hughes St., 101 NewCastle Rd., and 907 W. Boone St.
