Dear Marshalltown area residents - You have an opportunity to see and hear the talents and gifts of your friends and neighbors. That opportunity is to attend the play "Godspell," presently being performed at the Martha Ellen Tye Playhouse by the Marshalltown Community Theatre.
I attended the play Saturday evening, July 21, so from experience I can claim the excellence of the performance. The directing, lighting, costuming, music, set, singing and acting are superb-and I didn't have to travel 50 miles or more to be entertained or pay a small fortune.
The people who have prepared this performance are all amateurs who volunteer their time - for various reasons - for socialization, to be involved in the community, because they simply love the theater - whatever. Godspell is entertaining, but it also has a message to the human community.
The play will be performed again at 7:30 p.m. July 27 and 28. Be sure to see it.
